Miscellany
Racing was on the tide and the lake. Horses were used to take the boats out to the tide.
The Saturday night dinner (held in the Hydro Hotel which was demolished in ???? to make wasy for the Hilbre Court houses) was the first occasion in the club's history that ladies were allowed to attend. It was also attended by the last remaining founder member (the club was founded in 1901), A W Gibson who was President. One of the respondents to a toast made reference to the club's Jubilee in the past tense so how was it founded in 1901?
