WKSC members' area
These pages are for members of West Kirby Sailing Club who would like to know more about the event from their point of view. There is a lot to know and there are many members who aren't, or haven't been, directly involved in the event but would like to know more and why it is so highly regarded.
They may be, say, new members or cruising members who aren't here during May or just members who'd rather not be involved in the hurly-burly of the weekend. They deserve to know what their club is up to just as much as those directly involved.
History
There are many ways to portray the past. It's important you have the history from a member's perspective as well as the one we've told many times to outsiders.
Finance
The Wilson is a big affair. There is quite a lot money sloshing about. This is where you are as club members when the financial music stops.
Influence
The Wilson Trophy is a sporting phenomenon. Rarely is a sailing event completely owned and run by one sailing club, rarely does one attract international interest and entries without really trying and rarely is one as old as the Wilson. Here is some of the good it does for West Kirby Sailing Club and its members.
