Entering The Event
How do we Enter?
All entries for the Wilson Trophy are placed via the website. No payment is required at this stage, however in order for a team to go forward to selection we must have received the teams entry fee (£450) and deposit(£250sterling or the eqivalent of £300 in another currency.) by midnight on the 2nd February 2008

How do we know you have received our Entry?
Once you have filled in the entry form on our web site you will receive an email from us within a couple of minutes. You can also look on the Wilson Trophy website at the list of teams registered.

We didn't receive a confirmation email?
If you filled in our entry form and did not receive a confirmation email, this could be caused by a number of different reasons. The most common reason is you gave us an incorrect email address. Send us an email to wilson.trophy@wksc.org.uk with your correct email address and your team name and we'll resend the confirmation email.

I've Entered but the confirmation Email contained no details.
If you enter and your details are not contained in the confirmation email, or your team does not appear on the registered team list, please email us with your details. This can be caused by a number of different reasons, the furst being that the session has timed out. If the time you take to enter is longer than 20mins then the computer will reset and loose all your details. The other reason for entering problems is caused by firewalls put in place, normally on university systems. If you have any problems please email us.

How do we pay by bank transfer?
We need a transfer into the club's bank account for the entry fee of £450, please, and a cheque in your currency for the equivalent of £250 payable to West Kirby Sailing Club.

Please pay the transfer charges so that the club receives the correct amount. Please email us to let us know that you are paying by bank transfer and tell us the account name of the person/organisation that will be transfering the funds.

My bank says I need an 8 digit account number
If your bank wants an 8 digit account number, place a '0' in front and this will overcome this problem.

I've arranged for the payments to be made, how do I know when you have received them?
When any cheques or BACS payments are made the WKSC Treasurer updates the website. You will receive an acknowledgement email advising you that we have received your cheque or BACS payment. You can also check on the competitors area of the website using the username and password given when you registered your entry.

Accommodation

How do we arrange accommodation?
If you need somewhere for your team to stay please use the competitors area of the website, using the username and password that you chose when you registered for the event. There is a page there dedicated to accommodation. As soon as you fill in the details on this page we will make all the nessesary arrangements on your behalf. Top Tip - The earlier you let us know the easier it will be for our accommodation officer

We've arranged our own accommodation for the duration of the event, does anyone need to know?
Yes, use the competitors area of the website to let us know where you are staying. It lets us know that you have somewhere and are not expecting us to arrange something for you. Its also useful if we need to get in touch with you during the event.

May we arrive at the event any earlier?
Most hosts will gladly have you stay longer than they have agreed with the club so please ask directly. The details of the people you will be staying with will be available on this website.

When may we leave after the event?
If you wish to stay for a couple of days after the event we advise you again to ask your hosts or email wilson.accommodation@wksc.org.uk

Do we have to pay for accommodation?
Not at all. The accommodation at the Wilson Trophy is provided freely at club members' own homes without charge to guests.

May we bring others with us?
If you want to bring other people with you(e.g. coach,partner,dog) then you may either speak to your hosts or contact us by email, wilson.accommodation@wksc.org.uk

Catering and the Wilson Dinner

Do we have to pay for the Wilson Dinner?
Your entry fee includes dinner for the team, if you need more tickets you will need to contact us as early as possible as there is only a limited number and they get offered to non-competitors shortly before the event.

I'm Vegetarian, how do I let you know?
When your team manager requests accommodation or tells us where you are staying on the website, there is a option to let us know how many vegetarians there are in your team. If this has not been filled in please email wilson.secretary@wksc.org.uk and let us know.

Team Information and Registration

Can we change the names of the team members when we arrive?
Yes you can, up until the end of registration. After registration you can only change your team with the written permission of the race committee. You will be able to change your team names on-line until 0000 BST Friday 2th May 08.

We won't be arriving till late on Friday night, or early Saturday morning, how do we register?
We need to know that you are on your way, so give us a ring on number to be confirmed during registration on the Friday night. Registration will be from 2000 to 2200 on Friday 9th May 08. Teams not registered by 2200 on Friday may be excluded from the draw for the round robin even if you have rung us.

Other...

Will we be able to practise before the event.
It maybe possible to use 3 of the Fireflies on the Friday prior to the event but this depends upon the boats being ready and suitable weather. Please enquire with the Event Secretary upon arrival as booking in advance is no longer possible.

The Notice of Race contains specifics about the racing and the
sailing instructions will be posted shortly before the event.
