West Kirby Sailing Club's committee announces special event for 60th running of the world-famous Wilson Trophy


2009 is the 60th time the Wilson Trophy has been run in the famous amphitheatre of the Marine Lake in West Kirby.


Three days will be allocated to the event allowing more teams to participate and more time for socialising.

The 59th Wilson Trophy has been won by New York YC Silver Panda. They beat Larchmont YC from the USA 3 races to 0.

Larchmont YC from the USA are currently at the top of the league table having won all their races. Current holders of the World Team Racing Championships New York YC Silver Panda are following in 2nd place.





144 races were completed on day 1, with light winds and sunshine.





The race committee are hopeful that on tomorrow(Sunday) there will be enough wind to continue racing.

Entries for the British Open Team Racing Championships for The Wilson Trophy are now being taken online.

The event will take place on the 10th and 11th May 2008 on the marine lake in West Kirby, England. The notice of race has now been posted and is available for you to download from this website.
