2011 ISAF WORLD TEM RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS Day 3

The last day of the round robin saw GBR1 - Hawks in first position on equal points with USA1.They are proving themselves to be very clinical in their tactics and execution. GBR3 with Owain Mathhews and Emma Lombard, West Kirby members, are lying 3rd whilst GBR2 lie in 5th taking them all through to the finals. GBR1 youth team, West Kirby, have improved throughout the series and go into the semi finals against Spain. GBR youth2, Sevenoaks, are drawn against Ireland3.
The mood in all camps is very bouyant, we wish them well.

2011 ISAF WORLD TEAM RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS - day 2 update

2 days into this event and the West Kirby Hawks (GBR1) continue to lead the Open Championships. So far losing only to AUS 1 in round one and USA 1 in round 2.
GBR 3 has 2 WKSC members in it Owain Mathews and Emma Lombard. GBR 3 have impressed with their tally of wins losing only to the GBR 1 and USA 1 in some close races.
GBR Youth 1 (WKSC) have had some mixed fortune in this event losing in the final stages of a couple races. The split will see the top 3 youth teams being integrated into a league with the top 5 open teams. They will then sail a round robin which will then seed the teams for the open knock outs. Basically they need to finish top 3 to enter the open league and finish top four to be taken into the Youth knock outs.

2011 ISAF WORLD TEAM RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2011 ISAF WORLD TEAM RACING CHAMPIONSHIPS gets going in Schull Ireland.

These are taking place as we speak in Schull in Ireland. WKSC is well represented with GBR1 (West Kirby HAWKs) in the Open competition have started well with 9 wins from 10 races and are lying third behind USA1 and GBR3. GBR1 have not sailed GBR3 yet so when they sail that race, the only outstanding one in the current round, there should be a clear event lead.
